Meet Carrie Schweitzer, Ph.D., a professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at 抖M女仆, who since 2000 has been conducting research while teaching geology at 抖M女仆鈥檚 Stark Campus. Session two will present various sources for funding available to 抖M女仆 researchers for Open Access (OA) publishing, including the OhioLINK transformative agreements with Cambridge University Press, Elsevier, IOP Publishing (Institute of Physics), Springer, and Wiley. Also covered will be the 抖M女仆 Open Access Publishing Fund which supports article processing charges (APCs) for OA journals.

Session one will cover the basics of Open Access (OA) publishing in today鈥檚 research environment, including definitions,a dvantages, and risks. Information on various OA models will be included, as well as authors鈥 rights, repositories, and how to avoid predatory publications. Legislative and other news on the progress and implementation of the 2022 OSTP Public Access (鈥淣elson鈥) memo will be covered.
