The School of Theatre and Dance’s Design, Technology and Production program has been selected by On Stage Blog as one of the top 30 programs for the 2019-2020 academic year.

��MŮ��’s Hugh A. Glauser School of Music and Tuesday Musical, based in Akron, have launched a new series that will bring world-renowned classical musicians to the Kent Campus to work with students.

Love, loss and hope. These are three critical elements Maria Jacobs brings – along with her considerable professional experience – to the ��MŮ�� community. Jacobs is a part-time instructor in the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music and a nationally known jazz singer.

“The Great Gatsby,” a book many read in high school. We remember the green light on the dock, the passion and the tragedy. What many didn't know – until recently – was that the story was also printed in the newspaper.

When ��MŮ�� alumnus Eric Meek is not working in a glass art studio, one may find him on the small screen sharing his expertise in the new Netflix series called “Blown Away.”

Almost 50 years ago, the shootings of ��MŮ�� students by the Ohio National Guard brought to a head the cultural divides that had split the nation. The ��MŮ�� Museum’s exhibition, “Culture/Counterculture: Fashions of the 1960s and ’70s,” opening Sept. 20, explores the sharp contrast between supporters of the establishment and those opposed.

��MŮ�� jazz ensembles instructor, Christopher J. Coles aspires to evoke emotions and conversations surrounding topics like social injustice and race through the display. “Nine Lives Project” has been viewed at workshops throughout Cleveland, Canada, and most recently broadcast in a Shuffle session with WKSU.

��MŮ�� is pleased and proud to announce the return of “We the People,” a photography exhibition that shines a light on our common humanity.

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of May 4, 1970, when Ohio National Guardsmen opened fire on ��MŮ�� students protesting the U.S. invasion of Cambodia during the Vietnam War, killing four and wounding nine, students and faculty from ��MŮ��’s School of Fashion Design and Merchandising are bringing attention to current social issues in the new exhibition called “Wearing Justice: Perspectives From KSU Fashion School Faculty and Students” that is on display now at the ��MŮ�� Museum.

Toni Morrison, the bestselling author who died Aug. 5, at one time was offered a job in ��MŮ��’s Department of English, recalled English Professor Yoshinobu Hakutani, Ph.D.
