Earth Fest 2024

¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ celebrated Earth Month with an exceptionally full schedule of events, not the least of which were the activities on campus surrounding the total solar eclipse!

¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ won the food waste category in the Campus Race to Zero Waste national competition.

¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ earned first-place honors in the annual Campus Race to Zero Waste, a nationwide college campus recycling competition.

New ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ graduates prepare to turn their tassels from right to left, signifying the earning of a degree, during a Spring 2024 Commencement ceremony held at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.

The ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ Board of Trustees approved the updated ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ Complete College Ohio Campus Completion Plan as part of a state and institutional commitment to increase dramatically the number of college degrees awarded in Ohio. The plan was approved during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held May 22.

The ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ’s Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative at 1309 Euclid Ave., Suite 200, in Cleveland to consider the recommendations of the standing committees, proposed personnel actions and new business.

Birds flew overhead, black squirrels darted around and a cool, calm breeze swept across Risman Plaza on April 22 as dozens of organizations assembled their tables for Earth Fest, an interactive Earth Day event.

Prairie Burn 2024

The annual prairie burn on the university property near the Recreation and Wellness Center renews healthy plant growth and saves ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ money in maintenance costs.

 

A blaze burns the prairie grass that grows behind the Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center during a controlled burning by the Kent Fire Department.

The protected prairie surrounding ¶¶MÅ®ÆÍ’s Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be burned on Monday, April 15, between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon, to allow for new growth during the summer season.
