Professor Scott Hallgren Conducting Orchestra for Score of Local Film

Scott Hallgren, associate professor in the School of Media and Journalism, teaches several classes in digital media production with a focus on sound in picture. He recently showcased his skills outside the classroom by composing the score for a local short film while also releasing his first book.

Wendy Patton, director of the 抖M女仆 Columbus Program in State Issues

As the director of the 抖M女仆 Columbus Program in State Issues, Wendy Patton sets students up for valuable experience and future success in public policy. A 35-year career in state and local government 鈥 including 15 years with Policy Matters Ohio 鈥 prepared Patton to teach about public policy and state government in Ohio. She鈥檚 looking forward to helping students find career interests that can make a difference on the local, state and federal level. Michelle Corvette is the new assistant director of 抖M女仆鈥檚 Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). The CTL鈥檚 mission is to enrich student's lives by supporting faculty members with evidence-based, student-focused and innovative teaching and learning measures. Peggy Shadduck, Ph.D., vice president for Regional Campuses and dean of the College of Applied and Technical Studies at 抖M女仆

Peggy Shadduck is vice president for Regional Campuses and dean of the College of Applied and Technical Studies. She serves as the senior officer responsible for overall leadership of the 抖M女仆 Regional Campus system. Her role promotes student enrollment and academic success and is responsible for expanding the visibility, influence and effectiveness of 抖M女仆 as a catalyst for regional development.

Roseann 鈥淐hic鈥 Canfora, Professional-in-Residence

Roseann 鈥淐hic鈥 Canfora, Ph.D., is a Professional-in-Residence at 抖M女仆 in the School of Media and Journalism, part of the College of Communication and Information. Prior to teaching at 抖M女仆, Canfora served as the chief communications officer for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and taught high school journalism and speech. Canfora was also a student at 抖M女仆, starting in 1968, and is a survivor of the May 4, 1970, shootings at 抖M女仆. She graduated with her master鈥檚 in journalism and public relations and bachelor鈥檚 in English/speech. She is heavily involved in activism as well.

Darin Olson, D.M.A., the new director of Athletic Bands at 抖M女仆

Darin Olson, D.M.A., is the new director of Athletic Bands at 抖M女仆. He leads the Marching Golden Flashes, Flasher Brass Pep Band, Kent Symphony Band and University Band. Olson is currently an active member of College Band Directors National Association and the National Association for Music Education.
